Smart Strategies: Budgeting for Wedding Florals and Styling

BUDGETING FOR WEDDING FLORALS & STYLING

: fresh flowers on your wedding day

Are flowers not a central focus for your special day?Or do you believe flowers are highly important, capable of bringing your day to life and reflecting your unique style?"

Before delving into any floral arrangements, it's essential to establish your wedding flower budget from the outset. This will help you identify your must-have floral elements, your nice-to-haves, and areas where you can potentially economize in your floral designs

As a general guideline, allocate 10-15% of your total wedding budget for flowers. If you desire unique, bespoke designs, consider setting aside over 20% of your budget.

“We know what works and what doesn’t!”

We ensure that we understand your requirements and scope preferences. - we also know which items should be given priority because of the impact they will have in the long run.

Our aim is to ensure that your vision is delivered to perfection and let you relax in the preparation process by fitting as many of your requirements within budget while maintaining our quality design standards.

Once we are on the same page, we can creatively and realistically design what you want within your budget.

While we offer itemised lists as guidelines in CHÂTEAU MONA wedding packages, each wedding is unique, making it impractical to break down every item by price. We focus on understanding your preferences and prioritising key elements.

During the design process, we don't set specific prices for each arrangement, as budget allocations can flex based on floral volume and discounts for quantity.

So It is important to be clear about your budget from the start. It also helps if you head into your first floral planning meeting with at least a rough understanding of the costs associated with specific floral elements.

As a guide on average

*Excluding delivery/setup & collection charge

  • Under $4000 Ideal for small weddings, covering bridal party flowers and minimal ceremony/reception decor, possibly using candles for table styling.
  • $5000 - $6000 Offers limited floral scope, allowing for statement pieces at the ceremony or reception.
  • $7000 - $9000 Provides decorative features, including personal flowers, ceremony arrangements, and table decor.
  • $10k+ For a luxurious experience, encompassing personal flowers, impactful ceremony pieces, hanging features, and table arrangements.
*minimum $1000 for bridal party flowers
*full floral set up / styling service starts at $4500
*most of my couples spend in between $6500 and  $8500 on wedding flowers/styling.

    Under $4000

Depending on the size of the bridal party, this will cover all bridal party flowers (bouquets for bride & bridesmaids, buttonholes for groom, groomsmen, parents, MC & celebrate) as well as allow for small/medium features at the ceremony & some table decorations at the reception - using pillar or taper candles to style the tables instead of flowers.

Alternatively, instead of table centrepieces, this could allow for a large feature at the ceremony or the reception.

For example an arbour with flowers that can beautifully frame the moments you exchange your vows and have as a backdrop to your wedding photos.

    $4000 - $5000 with limited floral scope

Choose one or two "Wow" moments as you don't have to cover every surface at your reception with flowers! Instead, set a few statement centrepieces in key areas such as archway, bridal table but use more minimal arrangements on tables.

This budget could allow for a medium/large feature at the ceremony such as a set of alter metal stand flower arrangement or floral arch.

Or, if there is just one of either a ceremony flowers or reception flowers, there will be budget to cover off medium sized table arrangements for tables.

But if we are building a custom ceremony structure, this budget may only account for personal flowers, the ceremony feature and a few touches at the reception.

    $6000 - $8000 with decorative feature

This price range can cover within our full service wedding including personal flowers, a ceremony floral feature, an installation at the reception, as well as flowers and candles for the tables.

    $10k+ towards the luxurious end

With this budget, we are looking at a collection of personal flowers, large statement/impact pieces at the ceremony.

For the reception, the budget could allow for a hanging feature as well as flowers and candles for the tables.

You’ll note that there are still lots of smaller pieces such as flower crowns, flower girl, ring boy, rose petals, welcome signage, wishing well table deco & so many more haven’t been mentioned.
